Stavanger, Norway, July 5th, 2004 -- VisiWear Corporation today launched the EX 3100 product
-- a new intrinsically safe / EX certified wireless and wearable video recording and communication system incorporating hardware, software and peripheral technologies designed to help organizations communicate more efficiently, saving both travel costs and operational costs. The product is certified for operation in Hazardous areas.

The EX 3100 was previewed at the CommunicAsia 2004 show in Singapore 15-18 june 2004. The product is available for sale, starting july 1. 2004. The product will also be shown at the 2004 ONS (Offshore Northern Seas) exhibition, Stavanger, Norway 24 - 27 august 2004.

VisiWear EX 3100, which is based on our new web based software platform and dsp based hardware platform, which significantly simplifies the user interface and lowers the user entry level and accessibility of advanced mobile video communication. The product is based around a MPEG-4 hardware encoder, embedded web server and an 802.11g wireless interface. The system is built into an aluminum housing featuring shock protection, IP 68 protection (water proof) and impact resistance in a sleek and modern design.

System overview
The EX 3100 product and the ST 3100 (standard version), both communicates with standard 802.11b and 802.11g networks. On the receiving end the products can communicate with both computers and standalone MPEG-4 decoders (VisiWear RC 3100)

VisiWear provides the Go Live online web service as an added value service to customers in need of a total management package of both VisiWear EX 3100, ST 3100, RC 3100 products along with user access features and communication session management. Added functionality:

"In addition to real time audio/video communication, the EX 3100 can also be utilized as an IS camcorder (Intrinsically safe camcorder), or EX camcorder (EX certified camcorder). The EX 3100 can thereby cover the needs for both online collaboration and offline documentation. As video is recorded wirelessly directly to our customers network, there is no need for capturing video dv tapes or managing storage media after recording. The recorded video is available by any computer in the customer's network both during (live) and after recording.
